Joan Johnson (left) joined us to celebrate her husband, Glenn Johnson's last day at Rotary after 47 years of "Service Above Self". Glenn has been involved in Rotary across the globe from Australia to various clubs in Ontario; Grand Bend,  Stratford and London. Glenn was a founding member of our club and Charter member. Glenn has also been involved with other service clubs over the years including Lions Club and recently the President of the Probus Club of London. Glenn has been a very active member of our club and we will miss him very much. A very big Thank You, Glenn and Joan for your significant contribution to our community.

FYI - An excerpt from the President's Message - Rotary Club of Carlingford NSW Australia

It is easy to see where Chris Johnson got his grounding and passion for Rotary as his

father, Glenn Johnson, has just retired from Rotary at the age of 86 and after almost 50

years of service. Glenn has been a member of a number of Clubs in Canada including

London South, North Bay, Stratford, Grand Bend and London West. He even did a stint

as a member of St. Ives in Sydney. Glenn’s resume is very impressive having been Club

President, Charter Committee of two Clubs, District Conference Chair, GSE Team Leader,

Permanent Fund Chair, District Trainer and the instigator of many fund raising initiatives.

Glenn is a multiple PHF, major donor, benefactor and bequest society member.

Glenn and his wife, Joan, were recognised at a meeting of The Rotary Club of London

South on June 27 where Glenn was described as “not just a member of a Rotary Club but a

true Rotarian who exemplifies the ideals of Rotary“. Well done to your dad, Chris, from the

Rotary Club of Carlingford.
