President Lorna gave an update for Q2 of this Rotary year. We are well on our way to qualify for the President Citation. To date we have exceeded most of the qualifying item, but some must wait until the snow thaws to plant trees and other outdoor projects. Our fundraising has been successful and next year incoming President Bill will have sufficient funds to fund projects. Our social media projects is underway and Lorna will chair that effort next year. During Q3 we will kick off our "Don't Meth With Us" project. We are having a successful year.PDG and club Rotary Foundation Chair Al Hardy presented an update on our RI Foundation status.
We have met and exceeded our goal for annual giving and will meet our Polio Plus goal. Al outlined the various ways to give to the foundation and the recognition awards associated with levels of giving. A special moment at our meeting was the awarding of a pin to recognize Gary McCarty's attaining the next level of his Paul Harris contributions. April 12 was identified as the date for a community recognition dinner. Criteria nominating candidates for these awards will be sent out shortly. A committee will review the nominations and recommend candidates to the Board of Directors for acknowledgement.
