Steve Wolsley and three students from Wilton Grove Public School gave us a morning concert.  The musicians are participants in the El Sistema program which provides immersive music instruction and instruments free of charge to, but not limited to, at risk children. Side benefits to the music instruction are confidence, self respect, humility, integrity and passion for excellence.  Children start in Grade 5 when their physical capabilities make learning these difficult string instruments possible and are engaged three or four nights per week in practice and instruction.  Members of El Sistema have public and private events including a concert at the Victoria Park Band shell.  We were treated to an early morning concert starting with our national anthem and classic pieces.
